Open to full-time or part-time students at any Canadian university or college,
and recent graduates (within the past 2 years).

Online learning programming begins: January 13, 2026

Top 20 Teams are announced and Open Public Voting: March 20 - April 6, 2026
TOP 3 Teams & People’s Choice Winner Announced: April 10, 2026

Application
Application video: As part of your application, submit a short (1-minute) unscripted video where the team introduce themselves, explain their idea, share who it’s for, and why it matters. Submission portals open: February 23, 2026

Prizes
Top prize: $10k Canadian Dollars
2nd and 3rd runner up teams: Gift cards

Peoples Choice Awards!
There will be a special spot for a fourth team, that will be the voted by the public!

Cost
Does it cost anything to apply or participate?
No, applying and participating is entirely free. Resiin also takes no equity from startups.

Can it be based on our current research? or a solution we are creating now?
Yes! Your project can be based on your current research or a new solution you’re creating now—solutions built on research are fantastic.

What happens if I can’t code?
UPSKILL Hackathon is a great place to start and learn. Starting January we will be holding beginner-friendly tech and busienss workshops to help you build your idea.
